Tower Hill Tube Station is a station of the London Underground in Tower Hill, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The station, which is in Travelcard Zone 1, is served by the Circle Line, between the Aldgate Tube Station and Monument Tube Station, and by the District Line, between the Monument Tube Station and the Aldgate East Tube Station. It is a short distance from the Tower Gateway DLR Station of the Docklands Light Railway.
Tower Hill Tube Station is located a short distance from the Tower of London. Also within its vicinity is the largest remaining segment of the ancient London Wall that once encircled the City of London. The station first opened in 1882 on the site of another shortlived station, the Tower of London Tube Station, replacing another station, the Mark Lane Tube Station, which was located to the west.
