Stockwell Tube Station is a station of the London Underground in Stockwell, in the London Borough of Lambeth. The station is served by the Northern Line between the Clapham North Tube Station and Oval Tube Station, and by the Victoria Line between its terminus at the Brixton Tube Station and the Vauxhall Tube Station.
Stockwell Tube Station dates back to 4 November 1890 when it was opened by the future King Edward VII, then Prince of Wales, for the City & South London Railway. It was the first deep level tube railway. Train services only start at the station a month later, on 18 December, 1890.
