Stamford Brook Tube Station is a station of the London Underground in Chiswick, in the London Borough of Hounslow. The station is in Travelcard Zone 2. It is served by the District Line between Turnham Green Tube Station (heading towards Richmond or Ealing Broadway) and Ravenscourt Park Tube Station (heading towards Upminster or High Street Kensington). The station is located beside the railway overpass at Goldhawk Road.
Stamford Brook Tube Station began operating in 1869 for the London and South Western Railway (L&SWR). The Metropolitan District Railway, precursor of the District Line, connected to it in 1877. The L&SWR discontinued serving this station in 1916, leaving the Metropolitan District Railway as the sole operator.
