South Woodford Tube Station is a station of the London Underground in the London Borough of Redbridge. The station, which is in Travelcard Zone 4, is located along a road bend between Mulberry Way and George Lane.
South Woodford Tube Station is served by the Central Line between the Snaresbrook Tube Station, heading towards Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip, and Woodford Tube Station, heading towards Epping.
The South Woodford Tube Station dates back to 1856, when it opened as South Woodford (George Lane) Station for the Eastern Counties Railway. The Central Line began serving this station from 1947.
