Regent's Canal is a canal through London. It connects the river Thames in the east to the Grand Union Canal to the west. The canal was built in the early 19th century, as part of the masterplan for the development of central north London.

Construction of the Regent's Canal began in 1812, and the canal opened in stages, with the section from Paddington to Camden Town in 1816 and the section from Camden Town to Limehouse in 1820.

In recent years, the towpath of the Regent's Canal has become a popular area for cycling, whether to work or for recreation, as the people of London become more health and environment conscious.
