Ravenscourt Park Tube Station is a station of the London Underground in Ravenscourt Park, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The station, which is in Travelcard Zone 2, is served by the District Line between the Stamford Brook Tube Station (heading towards Richmond or Ealing Broadway) and Hammersmith Station (heading towards Upminster or High Street Kensington).
Ravenscourt Park Tube Station is located next to the railway overpass along Ravenscourt Road. It began operations back in 1873. At that time, it was managed by the London and South Western Railway for the new branch line going to Richmond. The station was originally known as the Shaftesbury Road Station.
In 1877, the Metropolitan District Railway, precursor of the District Line, extended its line to this station. In 1888, the Shaftesbury Road Station was renamed the Ravenscourt Park Station, a name that remains till this day. Electrification of the Metropolitan District Railway was achieved in 1903.
