Leyton Tube Station is a station of the London Underground in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The station is off High Road Leyton, on a flyover above the railway tracks and the A12 Motorway, in Travelcard Zone 3. It is served by the Central Line between Stratford Tube Station, heading towards West Ruislip, and Leytonstone Tube Station, heading towards Epping, Hainault and Woodford.
The Leyton Tube Station began operations in 1856 for the Eastern Counties Railway. At that time, it was known as the Low Leyton Station. It was renamed to its present name in 1868. The Central Line began operations here in 1947.
The Leyton Tube Station is close to TK Maxx, a shopping centre, and St Patrick's Catholic Cemetery on Langthorne Road. Also within the vicinity is Drapers Field.
