Taking the taxi is probably the most expensive public transport option out of Gatwick. Gatwick Airport has its official provider, Checker Cars, which operate a quoted fare system. Checker Cars taxis can be pre-booked with fares paid in advance or at the end of the journey, by cash or credit card. They also have swivel seats for disabled travelers. You can find their booking office at the northern entrance building leading to the South Terminal and at the North Terminal Arrivals area. It takes approximately 65 minutes to reach Central London, and costs around £77 (plus £5 congestion charge if your destination is within the charging zone).

All the taxis accept cash and some even credit cards. You can find a taxi stand at each of the five Gatwick terminal buildings.
