The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (often abbreviated to RBKC) is a London borough in the west side of central London. It is located immediately to the west of the City of Westminster.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is the wealthiest borough of England. It covers an area of 12.13 sq km (4.7 sq mi) and has 159,000 inhabitants. The borough contains several major museums and department stores such as Harrods of Knightsbridge, and embassies. It also contains some of the most exclusive residential districts in London.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea was created in 1965 from the former boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea. It inherited its Royal Borough status from Kensington. Initially intended to be call just the Royal Borough of Kensington, its name was changed with the inclusion of "and Chelsea" through the lobbying from the local people.
The neighbourhoods of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea include Bayswater, Belgravia, Brompton, Chelsea, Earl's Court, Holland Park, Kensington, North Kensington, part of Kensal Green, Kensal Town, Knightsbridge, Ladbroke Grove, Notting Hill, Portobello Road, South Kensington, Kensington High Street, West Brompton, Westbourne Park and part of West Kensington.

Six of the twelve lines of the London Underground serve the borough, which has twelve tube stations namely the Earl's Court Tube Station, Gloucester Road Tube Station, Holland Park Tube Station, Kensal Green Tube Station, Kensington High Street Tube Station, Knightsbridge Tube Station, Ladbroke Grove Tube Station, Latimer Road Tube Station, Notting Hill Gate Tube Station, Sloane Square Tube Station, South Kensington Tube Station, and Westbourne Park Tube Station.
