The Imperial War Museum is a museum in London showcasing military vehicles, weapons and other paraphernalia related to war, particularly conflicts relating to Britain. It also has an extensive library open to the public Mondays to Saturdays, a photographic archive, and an art collection of 20th century. The Imperial War Museum is partially funded by the government. It also has to depend on private contributions and donations as well as through retail and other commercial commercial activities.

The Imperial War Museum was founded in 1917 to commemorate those who died in World War I. It was originally located inside the Imperial Institute (now the Imperial College). It then moved to Crystal Palace, at Sydenham Hill. When that building was gutted in 1936, it moved to its present building in Lambert Road, Southwark. The building, designed by Sydney Smirke, was originally the Bethlem Royal Hospital, a psychiatric hospital.

The Imperial War Musuem is open daily, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Entrance is free, but donations are encouraged.
