When Goodge Street Tube Station was first opened on 22 June, 1907, it was known as the Tottenham Court Road Station. It changed its name the following year, on 3 September, 1908, to its present name when an interchange station was built and is now known as the Tottenham Court Road Station.
The Goodge Street Tube Station is one of the few stations of the London Underground that still relies on lifts rather than escalators. It is also one of the few with a seperated entrance and exit.
