Gants Hill Tube Station is a station of the London Underground in the London Borough of Redbridge. This is the easternmost station of the entire London Underground netweork. It is on the Hainault Loop served by the Central Line between the Redbridge Tube Station (heading towards Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip) and Newbury Park Tube Station (heading towards Hainault/Woodford).
As with many of the stations constructed in the 1930's, the Gants Hill Tube Station had its opening delayed due to the onset of the Second World War. It was only completed and opened in 1947. The station is located at an Eastern Avenue roundabout, with steps leading to it from the roadside edge of the roundabout.
The lower concourse of the Gants Hill Tube Station has a vaulted ceiling similar to the subway stations of Moscow. This is because when the Moscow Metro was being planned in the 1930's, London Underground provided some input.
