Finchley Central Tube Station is a station of the London Underground in Finchley, in the London Borough of Barnet. It is served by the High Barnet branch of the Northern Line between the West Finchley Tube Station (heading towards High Barnet) and the East Finchley Tube Station (heading towards Morden or Kennington). It also receives trains from the Mill Hill East Tube Station, which is on its own dedicated branch line. The Finchley Central station is located off Regent's Park Road in Travelcard Zone 4.
The Finchley Central Tube Station began operating for the Edgware, Highgate and London Railway in 1867. It was originally known as the Finchley & Hendon station. It took on its present name in 1940, when the electrified Northern Line trains began serving the station.
