Emirates Stadium is a football stadium in Holloway, in the London Borough of Islington. It is presently the second biggest football stadium in England after Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium, and the third largest stadium of any kind in London, behind Wembley and Twickenham, and the fifth largest foodball stadium in the United Kingdom.

The Emirates Stadium was built at a cost of £390 million. Actual construction began in February 2004 and the stadium was opened in July 2006, with the official ceremony by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, on 26 October, 2006. It was originally known as Ashburton Grove, after the road where it is located. However a naming rights deal with Emirates Airlines signed in October 2004 had the stadium renamed.

The Emirates Stadium is the new home of the Arsenal Football Club, which outgrew the Arsenal Stadium at Highbury, which had a capacity of 38,419. The new Emirates Stadium has a seated capacity of 60,355. To the immediate north of the stadium is the Arsenal Football Club Museum.

How to reach Emirates Stadium

Emirates Stadium can be reached by taking the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground to the Holloway Road Tube Station.
