The Croxley Tube Station opened in 1925. It was originally called the Croxley Green Station, though the word "Green" was dropped from its name in 1949.
There is presently a proposal to create the Croxley Rail Link, which will divert the Watford Branch east of Croxley to Watford Junction station. If this plan materializes, the line will terminate at Watford Junction, and in between, there will also be other stations served, among them Ascot Road, Watford West and Watford High Street.
