There are five major airports in London, of which the three biggest are also the biggest airports in the United Kingdom. Most of the international flights still use Heathrow Airport, located on the western part of London. A big percentage uses Gatwick Airport, the second biggest airport serving London. It is located to the south of central London. On the north side of London is Stansted Airport, the third biggest airport. In addition to the aforementioned three, Luton Airport and London City Airport also takes passengers, mostly on smaller planes for shorter flights.
